Project Proposal Writing For Writers

How to write an abstract for my harvard essays

When we sleep, other processes come into effect. Various hormones start being developed. Some of them are spent during a dream whereas others stock up for wakefulness time.

But, as scientists found out, during a dream the brain not only "is not switched off", but also, on the contrary, works with a time more actively, than at wakefulness. Even in a condition of a deep sleep the brain can answer external influences. They it is sometimes organic "dreams are interwoven into a plot".

The daily rhythm of most of people consists of 8 hours of a dream and 16 hours of wakefulness. But such rhythm - the habit acquired during life. A natural rhythm of the person - alternation of three-four hours of a dream and the same period of wakefulness (as at babies).

The dream with dreams is absolutely special condition of an organism at which the brain so intensively works, as well as at wakefulness, only this work differently is organized and much more secret by the nature. In any case, it became now clear: in any way it is impossible to tell that during a dream the brain is in a passive state.

If you ask acquaintances, what dreams they have, will be, perhaps, such which will answer: "And I never see dreams". However it not so. Researchers watched the fallen asleep person and as soon as at him there came the REM sleep, right there awoke and asked that he dreamed. Woken steadily remembered a dream and told about it. And it is valid when you look at the person in a phase of a REM sleep, it is possible to draw a conclusion that sleeping something worries: it speeds up breath, heartbeat changes, hands and feet move, the fast movements of eyes, face muscles are observed. Researchers assumed what exactly at such moments the fallen asleep person has a dream. And it appeared.

In a number of experiences (though other scientists challenge purity of these of experiment with worms, rats, birds biologists managed to transfer reflexes of one animal to another, untrained, entering into his brain substance from a brain of the first.

One more interesting fact: during a dream at the person not only eyes are closed, but also ears "are disconnected". The muscle operating acoustical stones hammers, an anvil, a stirrup when we sleep is in the weakened state, and the ear does not catch many not so loud sounds.

At amphibians and reptiles the dream is not divided into fast and slow phases yet. At birds the phase of a REM sleep lasts only 5-15 seconds. And at the person, according to experiences, the longest dream lasted 2 h 23 min. So much time in experiment the volunteer who long was deprived before by opportunities to sleep a REM sleep continuously had dreams.

The most deep sleep when usually active brain and a body are widely involved in recovery functions, is a stage of NBDG-This stage mainly in the first half of night. Within the first one and a half hours we in the 4th stage of a dream actually as much, how many for all rest of night. Thus, laboratory experiments confirm grandmother's fairy tales that the best dream - the first dream. To that fact that we receive "very much'' during the first hours nights, many well-known people bragging are obliged that only three are necessary for them - four hours of a night dream. Napoleon, Edison and were really capable to do without the, not so refreshing hours of a dream. However they probably slept by fits in the afternoon.

Such paradoxical readiness in the BDG-dream is fixed on an encephalogram - at this stage our brain waves are similar to low-level fast irregular encephalograms, our day life.

Experiments showed that the NBDG-dream is important for healthy functioning in the day world. The person can be deprived of the BDG-dream if to awake him every time when EEG shows that he started seeing dreams, and it will not do harm. But if to leave the same without NBDG-dream, eventually it to irritability and loss of mental readiness, as well as at a full sleep deprivation.

The dream often begins with twitching. This sudden convulsive movement which happens at the first stage of NBDG, call a mioklonny spasm. It is caused by sharp flash of electric activity of a brain. The Mioklonny spasm is similar to the tiny version of an epileptic attack, but it is quite normal part of the world of a dream. In most cases we do not realize it, and our body again relaksirut when we continue to travel in night.
